Managing the risks

Coronavirus has changed our world beyond all recognition and has impacted on every element of our lives. At Colmers Farm, we have put a range of procedures in place to do our best to keep our staff, children and visitors as safe as possible. Although we have taken as many practical measures as we can, we have also been mindful of the fact that we want our children to feel welcomed, safe and happy as well as inspired and engaged in their learning. Accessing Home Learning

In the event of future school closures or if your child is isolating at home, we will direct our parents and pupils to our Google Classroom area. All of our children have been given a log in and password to access this learning. (These are located in the front of your child’s Home Learning Book that was sent home in September). This learning will involve either recorded or live instruction. For more information, please see our blended learning file below.

Tips for home learning

Motivating, engaging and supporting children at home with their learning can be really difficult. Below are some ideas which may help.

My child is isolating and is eligible for means tested free school meals

If your child is isolating, you are entitled to a free school meal pack if you qualify for means tested free school meals. Please organise for somebody to collect this from school on your behalf.

Hands, Face, Space

There are three simple actions we must all do to keep on protecting each other. 

WASH HANDS - Keep washing your hands regularly for at least 20 seconds

COVER FACE - Wear a face covering in enclosed spaces (although this is not recommended in schools), especially where social distancing may be difficult and where you will come into contact with people you do not normally meet.

MAKE SPACE - Stay 2 metres apart where possible, or 1 metre with extra precautions in place.
