Event - Year 2 Hanbury Hall Visit
The children in Year 2 visited Hanbury Hall on Thursday 18 May to provide them with an exciting historical experience to write about for their SATs. They were wonderful ambassadors of the school and enjoyed themselves immensely.
After meeting the housekeeper the children were given a variety of cleaning tasks to complete. They had to build a fire, polish the silver, lay the table, polish the wooden chairs and even sweep the floor.
We managed to avoid the horrible rain and had a beautiful peaceful walk around the grounds looking at the mushroom house, the orchard, the partere gardens, the ha-ha and even discovering a tree that was over three hundred years old. A great time was had by all and the children produced lovely pieces of writing afterwards.
