Event - Cultural Week

21 to 25 June 2010

To link in with the World Cup, and to increase our knowledge of different cultures around the world, we held a cultural week instead of our usual Arts Week.

On Monday, we had a South Africa day, as that is where the World Cup is taking place. We made footballs from plastic bags and string, and cooked ‘Bobotie’ the national dish of South Africa. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, each class found out about their own country (Denmark, France, Japan, Brazil, Mexico and USA). Then on Friday we had an England day, when we celebrated all things English! We also had an African drumming workshop, which was great fun.

All our work is being displayed along the corridors to share with each other as well as the parents on our open afternoons.
